Sharon Hawke

Sharon Aroha Hawke is the 2nd child of Joe and Rene Hawke. Both her father and mother were housed in a caravan when she was 2 mths old and relocated to Hawkes Bay after being housed in Kitemoana St with her father’s 11 siblings. Sharon returned to her homeland and is now a homeowner on Kitemoana St. She trained as a camera operator and Producer in film and television and is now a Trust elected representative for Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei and speaks from her governance role about the first homeless in Tamaki Makaurau. She has a 13 year old daughter and is completing her father’s biography for the 40th Anniversary of the eviction on Bastion Point.
